#92 takes the win at VIR at the Lifeline 24 hour Race with ChampCar

Race Team Inc. fielded it’s #92 BMW E36 at the 24 hours of ChampCar this past weekend. We are very proud to say that we took home the win at VIR. It was a very exciting weekend and we had a great team that helped support the effort throughout what was a very hot day and very long night. The entire Race Team Inc. crew pulled together to help solidify their lead at the end of the race. Team owners, Michael Olenyn and Wayne Moubray would like to send a big thank you to everyone that helped and supported us throughout the event. Our team partners, RRT Racing and Rolling Road Block Racing need to be acknowledged for all of their help throughout the event.

Just as one would expect in a 24 hour race, the day and night did not go without incident. Contact with another car in the evening hours sent the car behind the wall where some suspension repairs were needed to replace a bent tie rod assembly. We were able to get the car back out fairly quickly. In the early morning an electrical malfunction made us lose lights which, of course, are essential when racing in the dark. After another round of repairs and we were able to head back out. Quickly, we discovered that in addition to the light failure, the cool suit system had failed. We chose to continue racing to the end without taking any more time behind the wall. The team rallied and braved 110+ degrees inside the car to cross the line for the win at VIR!

We want to send a big thank you to our team drivers: Carla Lebentritt, Sean McKay, Matt Deming, Wayne Moubray, Roger Eagleton and Paul Gerrard

Thank you to our sponsors for helping to make ChampCar 24 hour race at VIR 2018 happen!
